Microsoft image !

The amount of anti-microsoft pages is surprising. i don't know why theres even an entire sites.. that dedicate it self for logging MS flaws.

As a good practis i read earlier.. try searching for the word Evil Empire on google Microsoft will appear in the first page. also you may have a look at http://homepage.univie.ac.at/horst.prillinger/evil-empire/
which was tracking every flaws that microsoft had.

Also i have read a post lately on how Microsoft have to fund a open source projects - which is already happend DotNetNuke - to clear it's image.

ounistly saying that Microsoft not enjoing as Google for example enjoing it's cool bran.. even Microsoft trying to do so - having a cool brand name - by releseing Live! brand. but this is not answering why theres many anti-ms around?

the anser in my humble opinion is the media.

first ask any passer what is the weekness of Windows over linux ? he will start telling you how is linux is far more secure than windows.. (i known pepole said that, they never use linux). so how these pepole got this opinion ? baaaam yep MEDIA.
okay heard someone saying they yes got it from media but is truth then check this page US-CERT - United States computer emergancey readiness team
also get this document compering Linus to Windows

Didn'r anyone notic the battery explosion news.. were Sony battaries have been pulled out of the market... these battaries was installed in the most known computer manifactures labtops if not this peopaly cuz the media was busy puplishing flaws of Vista before the release. anyway check this, theres Nine million lithium-ion laptop batteries over the past few months, after ignoring persistent reports that some batteries had overheated so much they burst into flames. how's more newsworthy we are not talking here about security hole that may or may not cuz at the maxinum risk lose of money we are talking here about DEATH RISK.
but with no appearant resone the media didn't act as much as the papers published for a hole discoverd in the testing phase even before the RTM milestone. more news about Sony battaries explosion http://blog.sciam.com/index.php?title=sony_battery_recall_what_went_wrong&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,71652-0.html?tw=wn_technology_3

Marketing firm... don't know how to market

It was a fine whether day… spring tasty I was so excited as today SalesForce.com – http://www.salesforce.com/ is holding a conference in Cairo…I have researched the CRM product for this company few months ago… even that I liked their product but we decided to go for the open source Sugar CRM – http://www.sugarcrm.org/ which was fine and over featured for our simple needs.. back then I was working for zuuMedia – http://www.zuuassist.com/ which is a computer support company based on UK but their technical stuff was in Cairo.

Anyway to describe the even I only need single sentence "The Speaker ruins it for them" he is unprepared he is hesitated … as he mentioned this is the first time for him to speak in front of public gathering.

Not only this but he actually while he is showing us an example of creating some report and save it to a specific category he accessed his own SalesForceCRM – this is the name of their CRM - account and illustrate the example when he receives an error message saying that he have no permission for such operation… that's mean that he never try this example beforehand how come…the example is not questioned by one of audience it was on his presentation. And finally he failed after many trials to accomplish the example illustration.

Anyway was poor performance. Even with his response to some of questioners.. not mentioning how he got cornered when a guy ask him as the customer data will be saved at SalesForce servers how can I trust my data privacy from the power point of US Laws that in many states allow accessing data if the customers are form some regions like Middle east for example.. and he respond with "I hope they didn't do that" .

Technical issues aside it wasn't that bad as I got the chance to catchup with some friends.
